RAMIE SILK – Tunturi

Tunturi is the Finnish word for the flat, glacial hills in Lapland, in Sweden they are called Fjell. Mosses, lichens, stones and blueberry characterize the surface of the Tunturis. The characteristic colouring of the fell landscape in summer has been the inspiration for this atmospheric colour.

RAMIE SILK is a noble, lightweight blend of virgin wool, silk and ramie that feels light and cool. It is very suitable for summer projects or as an alternative sock yarn. Ramie is a natural fibre from a Southeast Asian plant related to nettle. It was used as a fibre plant very early on and together with silk it gives the yarn a special shine.
